Kevin founded Bizzies Restaurant, Inc. and co-owns Parsons Quickshop and Citgo which is also an authorized Dish Network retailer, sales and installation of satellite TV . He formerly hosted “The Good Morning Show” on WMCT-AM Radio in Mountain City from 2001 to 2003 and hosted “The Best in Bluegrass” Sunday evenings on WMMY-FM radio in Boone, NC. His most previous managerial experience was managing an industry operation at the NECX prison from 2003 to 2005.
He is a lifelong Johnson County resident and a 1988 graduate of Johnson County High School. He obtained a bachelor of science degree from East Tennessee State University in 1992. He is a 1998 graduate of the inaugural “Leadership Johnson County” class.
Hobbies include website design, ATV riding, arrowhead hunting along with drowning an occational worm. He is also involved in various segments of the Johnson County Community.
He served three terms as an Alderman for the Town of Mountain City, serving 2 years as the Vice-Mayor. He was elected by popular vote in March of 2007 as the Town Mayor. He is a past President of the Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. He is a past appointed board member of the Johnson County Emergency-911 Board of Directors, served from 2001-2007 as a Johnson County Community Hospital Board Member, and has volunteered time with the Johnson County United Way and the Relay For Life. He is also a past president of the Johnson County Community Assistance Team. He was a 1999 recipient of the Tri-Cities Tennessee “Top 40 Under 40” award.
His present volunteer status includes serving on several local and regional boards including the First Tennessee Development District, Upper East Tennessee Regional Services Agency, Eastern Eight Community Development, Mountain City Planning Commission and the Johnson County Economic Development Partnership.
Kevin is married to Elizabeth Ann and has a daughter Taylor and two sons Alex and Zackary. He resides at 496 Acorn Street in Mountain City. He and his family are members of the First Baptist Church. His parents are Glenn and Ruth Parsons of the Pleasant Valley Community.
